The images on this site are from worldwide locations across the main Continents, including from Asia – India, from Africa - South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Angola, Mozambique, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya, Zaire and Botswana, from the Americas - Alaska, Canada, Florida and Venezuela and from Europe - Romania, France and the UK.
All of the subjects are wild and taken in natural habitats. Usually these are within National Parks and conservation areas but I have also been privileged to experience the dwindling opportunities for photographing large mammals outside formal conservation areas.
2004 has seen trips to Florida and an extended trip to Kenya to cover the Wildebeast Migration.
Equipment
I use a Canon system ranging from 600mm to 16 mm. I have now fully converted to Digital and would never go back to film! High end digital cameras now produce images of stunning quality and operate at speeds fast enough to capture wildlife action. As file sizes get larger there is a constant requirement for investment in digital storage equipment and to be highly organised in managing the digital images produced.
The images on this site are produced from a combination of scanned slides taken in my film days to direct digital captures. These tend to be my most recent images taken over the last 2 years.
